스페이스 원은 오는 3월 10일부터 12일까지 3일에 걸쳐 작가이자 스페이스 원 디렉터인 여인영의 퍼포먼스 인터뷰 'a three-way dialogue'와 베를린과 한국을 오가며 작업 중인 구스타브 헬버그의 인터뷰 프로젝트 'Future Scanner: Dream Lines HBC'를 각각 신흥시장 광장과 스페이스 원에서 선보일 예정이다.
1. a three-way dialogue 여인영 작가의 ‘a three-way dialogue’는 작년 2016년 5월부터 한국의 서울, 독일의 함부르크, 인도 오디샤 주의 수도 부바네스와르에서 진행된 퍼포먼스 인터뷰로, 3개의 도시에서 다양한 속도와 형식으로 발전하며 공존하고 있는 공동체의 안팎을 기록하는 프로젝트이다. 도시 속 공동체가 내포한 사회적인 구조를 설치물로 재구성하고, 이들이 어떻게 도시 속에 흡수되거나 분리되었는지, 어떤 방식으로 도시 생활을 반영하거나 기록하는지 등을 6단계로 나누어 이러한 흐름을 인터뷰어와 3명의 인터뷰이 그리고 퍼포머(또는 번역가의 중간 매개자)를 통해 살펴본다.

2. Future Scanner: Dream Lines HBC 구스타브 헬버그의 ‘Future Scanner: Dream Lines HBC’는 해방촌에 거주하는 주민의 ‘꿈’을 모으는 프로젝트로, 이는 스웨덴의 Vargerb에서의 인터뷰 프로젝트(2016)와 호주의 Hopetoun에서 현재 진행 중인 프로젝트의 연장선이다. 작가는 해방촌 주민들에게 이 지역과 관련된 미래의 꿈에 대하여 질문하는데, 여기에서 꿈은 사실적이며 현실적일 수도, 한없이 비현실적인 환상일 수도 있다. 해방촌에 거주하거나 일을 하는 사람이라면 누구나 인터뷰를 통해 자신의 꿈을 이야기할 수 있으며, 관람객은 이러한 과정을 자유롭게 관람할 수 있다. 이날 해방촌 인터뷰 외에도 작가가 스웨덴과 호주에서 진행한 인터뷰 프로젝트의 비디오 작업과 글이 전시될 예정이다. - [HBC interviews: Inyoung Yeo & Gustav Hellberg] Date: 2017.3.10~12, Fri.-Sun. 1:00~5:00 pm Place: Space one, Shinheung market's public square space.
Space One presents two interview projects 'a three-way dialogue' by Inyoung Yeo and 'Future Scanner: Dream Lines' by Gustav Hellberg. The two interview projects take place March 10,11,12 FRI/SAT/SUNday from 1-5pm. 'a three-way dialogue' is a performance interview and will take place in Shinheung market's public square space. 'Future Scanner: Dream Lines' will take place in Space One's second floor space.
1. a three-way dialogue 'a three-way dialogue' is an on-going project by Inyoung Yeo. As a part of the project Yeo is conducting performance interviews in three cities, Seoul, Hamburg and Bhubaneswar. Simplifying and recreating the social structure of each community within each city, with installation, performer/translator, interviews with roughly 15 individuals in each city, total 45 individuals. The interview will consist of the interviewer constantly moving in flux in different positions in six stages of flux: front, back, side, side, diagonal and diagonal: mapping three shapes with the translator/performer.
- Performance Interviews are based on the following stages of logic: six stages in absorption, separation, transparency, reflection, simulation, and assimilation in a cycle. -Interviewer: Inyoung Yeo -Performer/Translator: Jane You -Video/Photo: Wook -Installation: Three chairs with wheels: 1. *Inyoung Yeo is a visual artist and director of Space One, born in S.Korea, raised and educated in Korea, US and UK. She currently lives and works in Seoul.
2. Future Scanner: Dream Lines HBC 10, 11 and 12 March Gustav Hellberg will start collecting dreams in Haebangchon (HBC). People from the neighbourhood are invited to come and tell their dreams about their future in connection with HBC. The dreams they have been asked to tell can be concrete and realisable or a boundless fantasy. The interviews are being made between 13.00-17.00 in Space One’s exhibition venue. If you live and/or work in the area please drop in and tell your dream. The event is also open to the public. Hellberg will also show video and text material from a similar project made in the Swedish town of Varberg and an ongoing project in Hopetoun, Australia.
*Gustav Hellberg is a visual artist, born in Sweden, living and working in Berlin and Seoul. Hellberg currently holds a position as professor at the Chung-Ang University.
